The Coca-Cola Company and their southeastern bottler partner, Coca-Cola Refreshments came together to consolidate their IT departments into one location. The real estate team was looking to create a space that promoted commingling and a new culture or togetherness. Shedding ideals based on tenure and status and moving in a direction of team synergy, information transfer, and shared thinking was a key operational goal of this project. Physically, the space promoted daylight, transparency, and expression of brand in a fresh way that represented the new joint culture.
turnerboone collaborated with IDEA|SPAN to design workstations and offices with flexibility to create multi-use space and maximize user control over individual workspaces. The IT Center of Excellence piloted a hoteling ratio that allowed employees to “opt in” to a blended work from anywhere schedule. This pilot program provided employee choice as a way to attract and retain talent as well as the ability for the space to grow and flex as needed due to unforeseen upticks in staffing.
